It is one of six high quality cottages at East Lochhead Farm set around a central courtyard and carefully refurbished from the old farm buildings. A door through to Plum Cottage next door allows the two cottages to be let as one sleeping up to 8.

East Lochhead is an ideal centre from which to explore Burns country, visit the RSPB Lochwinnoch nature reserve, cycle part of the Glasgow to Irvine to Carlisle cycle track, enjoy sailing in the Clyde estuary, as well as many other local attractions and activities.
