The
beach
2½ miles long and ½ mile wide at low tide, Camber
sands is reputed to be the finest sandy beach in the south-east.
The hotel is situated behind the dunes a couple of minutes walk
from the beach.
This large and open stretch of sand attracts a variety of people
from traditional beach users through to horse riders, kite surfers
and kite buggy enthusiasts, windsurfers and many more.

Rye
The sea that once surrounded this hilltop town has now retreated
leaving Rye looking out over the river Rother and surrounding areas.
Full of character the ancient town has changed little through the
ages. Medieval, Georgian and half timbered Tudor buildings line
it's pretty cobbled streets. |

Wildlife
The surrounding natural landscape is of international significance
for its wildlife (both flora and fauna). It is a site of special
scientific interest (SSSI) and is included in the proposed Pett
Level to Dungeness special protected area.
There are many important nature reserves close by including the
RSPB reserve at Dungeness and Rye Harbour nature reserve. Inland
there are many interesting and ancient forests to explore.
