Your activity

Britain's woodlands are excellent places to get active, stimulate your senses or relax within a beautiful setting. They are great places for exercise, such as walking and cycling; for relaxing, offering peace and tranquility; and for raising the spirits, through sights, smells and experiences.

  • Your woody activities are based in the ancient woodlands of East Sussex.
  • Choose from the following 2 options or add in your own ideas from our selection of 'Tailored Options' (see info box further down on the right).
    1. Spend the morning with a guide hunting, identifying and cooking your own woodland fungal harvest (note this is a seasonal activity).
    2. Take a woodland trek with an inquisitive llama carrying your picnic lunch. Rest and dine in the picnic area situated in the heart of the woodland.
  • You can also use your Discovery Information to explore the beauty and heritage of the High Weald surrounding your accommodation.

  • A medieval landscape unchanged for five centuries, created and maintained by traditional farming
  • ‘Weald’ means wilderness or forest and the area has the highest proportion of ancient woodland in the country.
