The Downs and Weald national cycle route
21 passes right through Hailsham where your accommodation
is located. This 'Cuckoo Trail', is a disused section of
railway that provides excellent traffic free access to both
the Sussex High Weald and the South Downs Areas of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. The route links up with the South Coast
national cycle route 2, or continues on to Eastbourne and
then on to Hastings.
|
| |
-
Your host, Kathryn, is also your cycle
guide for 2 of the three days. She is an experienced
and passionate cyclist who knows the area intimately.
-
The Cuckoo trail stretches north and south
of Hailsham and provides easy, flat cycling. The High
Weald and South Downs, accessed from the Cuckoo trail,
offer more challenging rides.
-
Kathryn will talk through the options
over tea on the afternoon of your arrival and will arrange
an itinerary to suit everybody.
-
Two electric bikes are available as well
as two road bikes, giving each person the chance to try
an electric bike for the day.
-
The last day is a free day allowing you
to use your Discovery Pack, (and bikes, if you choose
to keep them), to explore the local area by yourslves.
