Your activity

All who have experienced a balloon flight never forget the magic and romance of just drifting over the English countryside. Our hot air balloon flights last approximately one hour, but the whole adventure takes three to four hours.

Passengers are carefully briefed prior to departure on the safety aspects of the balloon and landing positions. After the trip, 'Champagne' is served as a celebration of the journey and a commemorative certificate is presented by the pilot. You are then returned back to the launch site.

  • Early morning and evening flights during the summer months when the wind is at its calmest.
  • As balloons fly with the wind we cannot guarantee you will be flying over the Surrey Hills all the time but, if not, you will certainly see some equally magnificent countryside.
  • Balloon flights can only take place in favourable weather conditions. Your break has been designed to allow for four different opportunities to fly but should weather conditions prevent this you will be given a voucher to redeem your flight at another suitable time.
  • Our ballooning partner - The British School of Ballooning - is a family owned business set up in 1987 and is licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority.
  • The school operates a fleet of 12 balloons carrying from two to sixteen passengers throughout Southern England and employ only the finest pilots, ensuring each balloon flight is a special occasion.
  • The fleet uses the latest equipment with balloons that are meticulously maintained for your safety and comfort.

  • Use your free time to relax and explore the beautiful local area using your Discovery Information.

Your destination

Wild and Tranquil, this part of the Surrey Hills is known as the Greensand Plateau of Witley and Churt. It is an undulating wooded plateau, bisected by the small, intimate enclosed valleys of the upper River Way and dotted with locally occurring hillocks. There are large areas of open heathland and common, conifer plantations, pockets of farmland and scattered settlement.

Nearby to the south lies Hindhead, comprising a complex knot of twisting V-shaped valleys and steep hills. The area offers some of the highest, wildest and most dramatic scenery in the South East. The vibrant and lively old English market town of Farnham is also close by, with narrow streets lined with some of the finest Georgian architecture in the south of England.

  • Extensive open heathland with high ecological value.
  • Frensham Ponds with its own inland beach!
  • Greensand Way - 108 mile trail from Haslemere to Hamstreet in Kent, with many local circular routes attached to it.
  • The Devils Punchbowl at Hindhead - the largest spring formed depression in the UK.
  • Bronze age burial grounds and ancient drove ways within heathland and common areas.
  • Industrial past of glass making and iron working with remnant features such as hammer ponds, leats, weirs etc.
  • Scattered settlements with pretty brick, stone and tile hung cottages and greens (e.g. Tilford)
  • Farnham, which is located 4 miles away, has ample shopping, banks, sports centre, a station, pubs and The Maltings Art and Crafts Centre with a packed programme of events (external link).
