  • Learn about the winter sky at night from the experts in a fun and memorable way, combining education and entertainment.

  • Appreciate the night sky without light pollution, with the planetarium lecturer as your guide.

Your accommodation
 

Old Chapel Forge, dating from 1611, nestles in the Sussex Downland with fantastic views of the Downs. The owners pride themselves on giving the very best in comfort and service and have been awarded a Four Diamond rating for three years in succession. They are also Gold Award winners in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

Through every aspect of your stay the owners strive to use environmentally friendly alternatives, whether it is the use of solar panels for water heating or the use of organic and locally produced food where possible.

 
  • Price is based on two sharing a room and includes a delicious home-cooked breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen.

  • Luxury accommodation in converted chapel and a cottage; family suites available.
  • The main house was built in 1640 and is positioned within beautiful grounds.
  • The Chapel dates from 1611 and was used as a chapel until 1847; now renovated in an environmentally sensitive manner.
  • During the 2nd World War the grounds were used as an advanced landing field and a number of British squadrons and two Norwegian squadrons were based here.
  • Visitors during the war included Prince Olav from Norway and Clarke Gable!
